About Bruce Best

As a Vice-Chair of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario from 2015 to 2021, Bruce presided over hundreds of cases addressing allegations of discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Code. His over 500 decisions are published online.
Since 2021, he has been a lawyer at Canada’s leading workplace investigation firm, conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination in the workplace, as well as integrity commissioner work respecting alleged breaches of codes of conduct for elected officials.
His decisions and investigation reports, when challenged in the courts, have always been upheld.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from McGill University. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
